Brittany - Chattanooga Portrait Photographer

A few weeks ago I met up with Brittany to get some headshots!  Brittany is an aspiring wedding planner and thought that having some professional pictures on hand would be wise if an opportunity presents itself . . . which I'm sure it will :) Brittany and I met during high school when we were placed on GPS's Blue Crew cheerleading squad.  She is a great leader yet knows how to follow.  She is organized, smart, and upbeat! Brittany is a "take charge" kind of gal which is perfect for wedding planning.

For the location of her shoot, we met on top of Missionary Ridge at the home her parents just purchased.  This house is gorgeous and will be 100 years old next year! Although the house is being remodeled, Brittany took me for a tour.  There is a fireplace in almost every room, huge windows, and a beautiful staircase that screams royalty.  I was in love!  Brittany and I fantasized about what it would be like to have her wedding there!  Here are some of my favorites from the shoot:

I loved Brittany's top from Anthropologie! Bright colors plus texture looks awesome in photos!

I brought some fabric covered journals that my mom made as props!  I wanted Brittany to look organized, jotting down notes like a wedding planner :)

I was in love with Brittany's blue eyes though sometimes they looked green.  Crazy!

Isn't she a doll???!

This was the dining room of the house.  You could open the windows and walk straight out to the front veranda.

The windows still had the wavy glass from back in the day.  Very cool!

Love this shot of Brittany!

Sending His Love

I'm not having a great day today but my husband always tries to find a way to make me smile. He drew me a smiling flower while at work and emailed it to me :) Cute, huh? He likes to show his sensitive side on occasion.

Becca and Ken Married - Nashville Wedding Photographer

It has been driving me crazy that I have not posted anything on my blog for 2 weeks! I have been drowning in a sea of pictures ever since I returned from vacation.  I am finally seeing the light, however.  So . . . expect some good blog posts over the next week!

Ok, so a few weeks ago I drove over to Nashville to shoot Becca and Ken's wedding at St. Bartholomew's Church. It was a lovely time as I was able to catch up with lots of friends.  I also had two wonderful hosts Bethany and Eric that gave me a comfy bed to sleep in while I was there.  I highly recommend the B&E B&B :)

I will start off by saying that I'm a little jealous that both Becca and Ken work at Disney World. And, honestly, their wedding was the most animated wedding I have ever seen . . . as you will shortly see. There were many times over the course of the day that I would be shooting and then start looking around like, "Is anyone else seeing this? This is HYSTERICAL!" Becca, of course, looked beautiful and was not afraid to let her personality shine despite the 100 degree heat index.  Last minute, the reception was moved from the outside courtyard into the parish hall so that guests would not pass out into what I like to call a "sunshine coma."  Although I consider myself to be a pretty good story teller, the SLIDESHOW has music so that pretty much trumps anything I have to say.  I'll give it a shot though.

The day begins early as the bride and bridesmaids get ready.

I love Colby's face as she gets sprayed with hairspray!

And here's the groom Ken getting ready for the big day!

The beautiful bride is taken to the sanctuary for a few pictures! It was REALLY hot outside!

We brave the heat for some bridal party pics! I love how everyone looks so happy!

The girls get relieved from the heat and I bring out the guys!  I think they look game ready!
Photobucket

Family pictures are taken.  This is Uncle John, who will be walking Becca down the aisle.  Uncle John's "love tap" backfires as his hand gets soaked with sweat! LOL!

Ceremony time arrives and Becca is walked down the aisle.

Just as the ceremony begins, I capture this delightful picture of grandma which inspires the following QUIZ:

Complete the following: Grandma is . . .
a) changing her watch to central time to keep an accurate mental record of the day's festivities
b) part of the CIA and communicating with the Russians through her watch like Dick Tracy
c) setting a 30 minute "Time's Up!" beep so the priest knows we're ready to booze it
d) old habits die hard

Photobucket

Judging from the next picture, I'm gonna go with answer C.
Photobucket

Rings have officially been exchanged.

Two souls are happily wed and are ready for the reception.

At the reception Ken gathers the children around for story time.

However, the matron of honor has her own ideas for Ken.

The bride gets booty-bumped by her best friend and the rest is history.

And that's the way I saw it! :) haha! Ok, ok . . . the SLIDESHOW's probably way better.

Michaela - Cleveland Children's Photographer

A few weeks ago I met up with Michaela for some pictures. Michaela is 11 and starting middle school in the fall! We had some great light the evening Michaela came over. Her mother Ginger also did a fabulous job assisting me with the reflector. Gotta love moms! Michaela is so sweet and it shows in her pictures! Here's a sneak peek:

Riverbend '09 - Chattanooga Photographer

I feel completely and utterly spoiled every time I look at these pictures! Yes, I am a moocher
of my parent's well-deserved assets. Hopefully, I can re-pay them for their generosity and care
in my later years. I love my parents!

Although I generally avoid Riverbend like the plague, my mom, best friend, and I braved a little
traffic for a nice meal at Foodworks and some rooftop fireworks at the condo. I'm pretty sure
we had the best seat in the house! Plus, the HOA of the condo provided Krispy Kreme donuts to
everyone in the club room that night. It was heaven! Here are a few favorites from the night:

Beautiful Chattanooga!

I love how I was able to catch so many different fireworks at once!

"Oh say can you SEE?!"

Glad to not be in the traffic below :)

I love the bottom left picture! Bethany looks like some animal coming out
of the water, gasping for air! HILARIOUS! hahaha!

Zarina and Greg: House for Sale - Knoxville Commercial Photographer

Last week I received a call from my friend Zarina telling me that she and Greg are moving! When I first met Zarina, I was a realtor in Knoxville.  Although I have retired my license, Zarina wanted help in selling their house.  So . . . Wednesday I headed over and got their home staged for some pictures.

The home is located off Clinton Hwy in Knoxville in a very inviting neighborhood.  It's 2 stories, 3 bedrooms, 2.5 baths with a 2-car garage and concreted storage space under the house! Upstairs there is a very spacious bonus room as well!  The downstairs is an open floor plan with the living room and dining area joining.  To top it off, there is also a screened-in-porch perfect for sunny or rainy days that overlooks a large backyard.  For more information, pictures, or to schedule a showing, please call 865-209-0059.

Here are a few home highlights:
