The latest addition!

Lots of changes are being made at Lori Line Photography.  This month I acquired some new equipment for a "petite studio."  It's industrial yet cozy.  So if you need headshots or full body shots with a simple background, you've come to the right place.  This is also great for taking pictures of your little ones.  The pictures under "About the Artist" on my website were taken at the new studio. Luckily I was able to give my mother enough direction to get some pictures of me.  Try being a photographer from in FRONT of the lens!  Ahh!  However, for no experience, I think my mom nailed it!

Give the gift of Photography this Valentine's Day!

TODAY through Valentine's Day, Lori Line Photography is offering ALL you men the chance to be the sweetest, most creative, over-the-top guys EVER at a serious discount! And your women will love you for it! For just $60, I'm offering beautifully styled gift certificates for a Couple's Shoot! What's a couple's shoot you ask?

Essentially, you all plan a date to hang out at the park, to get ice cream, or whatever it is you all like doing outside or in a fun setting.  This time, however, she won't have to hold out her digital camera in front of your faces trying to get the perfect picture that she wants.  Instead, I'll be there with my professional camera getting the cute candid shots she'd like of you all interacting together. You know she's snap happy so give her a break this time and let me do all the work with much better results!

And since the gift certificates never expire, she can call me whenever she decides to set up an appointment.  All gift certificates will come with a letter explaining everything to her, along with some date ideas for your shoot.

What else is included in the Couple's Package?
  • an online proofing gallery via Pictage
  • 1 - 8x10 and 2 - 5x7 prints
  • a $5 gift certificate to use at Pictage to get additional prints at her leisure
If you want to be the guy to make a lasting impression on your lady, call (423-322-6523) or email me (lori@lorilinephotography.com) TODAY.  Limited quantity available.

Ladies feel free to call me as well if you want one!

Win a "Sex and the City" Photo Shoot

So we all have our favorite gal pals! Why should photo shoots be limited to couples, families, and brides? It's time to break free from the mould and be FABULOUS! Break out your stilettos because the winner of this shoot and 3 of her friends will receive the complete devotion of my camera for a few hours. That's right, you get a Girl's Night Out photographed by me. Since I can't bring the Brooklyn Street Bridge to TN, we'll begin the shoot on Chattanooga's Walnut Street Bridge. And just like you see in the commercials, I'll bring a few red helium balloons for the "Carrie" in your group. The shoot must be shot between Valentine's Day and Saturday, March 14th.

WINNINGS INCLUDE:
- up to a 3 hour photo shoot for you and three friends
- an online proofing gallery via Pictage
- 4 hot pink photo albums with 10 of your favorite 4x6 prints (additional prints may be purchased via Pictage)
- a smokin' hot slideshow displayed on my blog that you can email to friends and family (DVD of slideshow may be purchased along with a 5x5 coffee table book)
- a night to remember forever

ENTER TO WIN:
Join the group "Lori Line Photography" via Facebook and send me a message with the subject line: Sex and the City Shoot. In the body tell me if you're a Carrie, Samantha, Charlotte, or Miranda with an email address where I can contact you with details if you're the lucky winner! Drawing will be held on Tuesday, February 10th at the Bridal Open House at The Deep Bistro and Lounge in downtown Chattanooga!  Feel free to stop by for food and entertainment between 6:30 and 8:30 PM! You do NOT have to be a bride to enter nor be present to win!

PARTICIPANTS: Must be willing to travel to Chattanooga on their own terms for the shoot.

Hope to hear from you soon!

Christmas 2008

Christmas was a blast this year! My husband Nathan spent his first Christmas with my family. Although mom accidentally bought him girl's pajamas to wear Christmas Eve that would match the one's she bought me, we had a few good laughs over the incident that made it worth while. Mom promised that she went to the men's section in Old Navy but the glittering thread should have given it away. Ooops! Here are a few pics from Christmas! My sister's husband and dad had already retreated to bed . . . probably hoping that Santa Claus would come a little earlier I suppose :) The slideshow seems to center around my snaggle-tooth poodle Sophie! I just love her to death!!! Oh and just so everyone knows, no chocolate was fed to our dogs . . . just a little disclaimer.

Diva Night

Christmas season was a special one, indeed, this year! It's been over a year but the Divas finally united once again for fabulous food, drink, and fun! Mom, or rather Vanessa Deen as we like to call her . . . like Paula Deen, really put on the ritz for this special occasion (sending a formal invitation and everything)!  In the past, everyone just knew to meet at the house at 6 PM every Thursday night for a themed dinner and fellowship.  However, unfortunate circumstances caused a snuffing out of our parties.  Although things may never go back to the way they were, it's nice to have a reunion from time to time.  Diva Night is open to girls and women of all ages. It's so fun to hear about everyone's lives because many of us are in different stages.  We laugh, we cry, we dream, and advise.  Oh the chatter! And all around at our feet playing together are our toy poodles (and sometimes a yorkie or dachshund on occassion).  Yes, the ladies even bring their dogs!  This particular evening, all the food was prepared out of Southern Lady Magazine.  We also ended the evening with coffee, pound cake, pumpkin souffle pie, and an ornament exchange.  I was the proud recipient of a little bird ornament from Anthropologie! Enjoy the pictures!

HD Powder: Getcha Some!

If you've ever been on the set of a TV show, most make-up artists will tell you about the power of HD Powder! Since we live in a "high-def" world, it only makes since to wear high definition make-up, right? Right! For all my shoots, I recommend this powder! It works wonders on the skin and you can use it everyday! It's a translucent, mineral-based powder that can be applied to all skin colors. That's right . . . no matching of skin color because it only comes one way. Even guys can wear it without looking like they're wearing make-up! And they do on TV. So if you want a powder that sets your foundation, slightly mattifies your skin, and evens tone, then visit Sephora and GETCHA SOME!

Happy Birthday, Daddy!

So yesterday was my daddy's birthday! Normally, I might post a picture.  However, daddy rarely likes having his picture taken so I'll refrain from posting one here.  I must say that I hate January mainly because the weather and because Christmas is over and now I have to take down all my decorations. Boo! On the upside, however, January has always been a month full of birthday celebrations for me.  It's my dad's birthday (6th), my sister's birthday (22nd), my papaw's birthday (22nd), and my best friend's (23rd)!  Since I've been stuck inside due to all the rain, I began to think about what each of these people's lives have brought to mine.  I'm a strong believer that everyone in your life can teach you something.  So here are just a few memories and life lessons from my father:

1. Moss will not kill you if you eat it.
2. Riding my bike with no training wheels
3. How to draw Snoopy sleeping on his doggie house
4. How to bake a cake without getting eggshells in the batter
5. Roller coasters are fun not scary
6. There COULD be a boogie man in my room.  I still sleep with my closet door closed.
7. How to give appropriate surgery to a stuffed animal (aka sewing up loose parts)
8. How to wrap a present with the least amount of tape
9. "Blitzing" means Christmas Eve shopping, parking as far away from the mall as possible and walking.
10. How to drive
11. How to be generous through example
12. Have fun because you'll spend the rest of your life working
13. If love is hard before you're married, it doesn't get any easier over time.  Choose wisely.
14. Being happy is easy if you continue to make the right decisions.
